This plan fits around a normal life. It needs no equipment, only about 30 minutes a day and a willingness to keep going.
Day 1: set your baseline
Take the Real IQ Test when rested, note your result and try one daily challenge. You will compare at the end.
Week 1: build the foundation
- Fix a wake-up time and aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep.
- Walk briskly for 20 minutes a day.
- Do one daily challenge every morning.
Week 2: add reasoning
- Keep the habits from week 1.
- Solve one logic puzzle on paper each day, and write down the reasoning.
- Read 20 pages of a non-fiction book.
Week 3: add memory
- Learn a short list each day with a memory palace.
- Test yourself on the previous day's reading, before opening the book.
- Try Today's Enigma each day.
Week 4: stretch
- Take on the weekly challenge, a tougher set of puzzles.
- Teach someone one thing you learned this month.
- Learn a small new skill: a few words of a language, a chord, a card trick.
Day 30: measure and celebrate
Retake a similar challenge and compare. Do not expect a huge IQ jump; look for faster solving, fewer mistakes and better focus. Many people also notice better mood and sleep.
Keep it going
Choose the habits you enjoyed most and keep them. A small daily practice beats a heroic month once a year.
